Duck Tape 2019:
In Spring 2019, my proposal for my flower wall was accepted by the Duck Tape Corporation. I wanted a way to involve my students and when COVID hit, I knew this was my moment to still have an artmaking experience with my students while we were in quarantine. I quickly packed up all of the materials students would need, they had one practice class, in which all students made one flower and we went remote. The middle school students began making a variety of duck tape flowers at home, which were featured in my duck tape wall. Students dropped off their flowers at school when they picked up their artwork from the year. I assembled the entire wall, adding vines, additional flowers, leaves and the low relief panels which represent the city of Avon, Ohio (home to the Duck Tape Corporation). Our collaborative flower wall was on display at the CampSITE Sculpture Park in Cincinnati, Ohio before travelling up to Avon, Ohio for the pandemic friendly sculpture scavenger hunt. Jamaica Service Immersion Trip 2015:
In June 2015, I helped to lead a high school service and immersion trip to Hatfield, Jamaica. Where we worked at St. John Bosco boys home for a week repainting one of the dorm rooms. St. John Bosco Boys’ Home is a residential child-care institution in Jamaica, owned and operated by the Sisters of Mercy. We repainted an entire dorm room with cricket, soccer and basketball players and inspirational sports quotes. Soon after the room was painted the boys were moved back in this dorm to enjoy their new murals! It was a wonderful experience and a way to teach art, give back and expose students to a different country. |

Duck Tape in Outer Space 2014:
In the spring of 2014 The University of Cincinnati offers a special 3-D studio class that practices art with duck tape, I was fortunate enough to be included in this artistic opportunity and to have my Duck Tape wallet in outer space. The class is sponsored by ShurTech LLC, or otherwise known as the Duck Tape Company. Each year students in the class construct large scale sculptures to be displayed at the Avon Heritage Duck Tape Festival. Every year, the festival hosts a specific theme that gives the students an idea of what to build for the class and festival. This year (2014) the theme was "Out of This World" As a class project we decided to literally send duck tape "out of this world." We sent two capsules to the stratosphere via weather balloon. The capsule equipped with gps tracking, HD camera, and of course duck tape wallets reached very high altitudes, upwards of a 100,000 ft. You can literally see the curvature of the earth. Special Thanks to ShureTech LLC and Rick Wolhoy for the video and including me in the project.

Buck's Rock Camp 2011-2013:For three summers I was Head of the Book Arts Studio at Buck's Rock Camp in Connecticut. Where I taught paper making, letter press and book binding to students 9-18 years old. Buck's Rock Camp is an arts based Montessori camp located in New Milford, Connecticut. In the Book Arts Studio we focused on making sketchbooks, sculptural books, marbled paper, bubble paper, making paper from pulp and we even took students on a field trip to the Hudson River Bindery.

Curatorial Assistant and Museum Education Intern 2009-2010:During my undergraduate studies at Ohio University, I worked at the Kennedy Museum of Art as a curatorial assistant and also as a museum education intern. While working as a curatorial assistant I was in charge of documenting, conserving and displaying the current exhibits and the permanent collection. I worked alongside artist Mark Dion as he installed his project, Collections Collected, which was a incredible experience and exhibit. While working as a museum education intern, I wrote the text for the exhibit Circle of Cottonwoods: Selected Teec Nos Pos Weavings from the Edwin L. and Ruth E. Kennedy and Southwest Native American Collection. Here is the link to the online exhibit http://www.ohio.edu/museum/cottonwoods/index.html.
